Our Web Design Process
Three simple stages to get you started...
Stage 1: The Design Brief
With the website enquiry form and subsequent meeting we'll ask the right questions to find out why you need a new website and exactly what you're trying to achieve. Some questions may seem a little uncomfortable, but that's a good thing. We believe if it doesn't get a little awkward then we probably haven't done our job.
Stage 2: The Proposal
Our proposal will detail how we can help you achieve your goals and meet your needs for your new website. We'll tell you about your investment and maybe suggest some options that may improve your website long term. We're always happy to discuss proposals in detail if it helps and makes changes where necessary.
Stage 3: Pre-flight Checks
Pre-Flight is a chance to discuss timescales for your new website and to finalise the site plan ready for the design process to begin. We plan to have your website ready to launch in 30 working days, which should give you plenty of time to prepare your content and approve each stage of the design process.
How our web design process works
We believe that great design is the result of a good conversation. In fact, it's often during this chat that we come up with the best ideas for your business. And it’s not just about making things look pretty; our designs are built around understanding how people interact with your brand and what they need from you in order to take those next steps.
Next we organise everything into a meaningful and hierarchical structure, the site plan. Making it easy for users to find what they need and simpler for site owners to publish their content. This allows us to all get on the same page very quickly, it will communicate the best way to structure your information, on your website.
Sitemap approved, let's move onto the interactive prototype then, this is a basic hosted website, it's purpose is simply to show you how things work. We find it's far easier to give you something to play with rather than listening to our jargon and tech talk. The prototype has no design added, at this stage we favour function over form.NOTE: Your website content should really be ready now, this includes your logo (best quality), photographs and text files (Microsoft Word).
This is the bit we really enjoy, the web design stage, crayons and colouring pencils are at the ready to bring your interactive prototype to life. We won't ask you to imagine your website as a lifeless PDF or laser print, we'll give you the keys and let you take a test drive of the real thing.
Next we start coding, morphing your design and your prototype into a fully working, beautiful website. This is the technical stage, the part where we spend hours in a darkened room staring at computer screens, but the end result is worth it.
Almost done, testing is the final piece of the puzzle and every website goes through our rigorous pre-flight test before the final launch.
Finally your amazing new mobile responsive website is ready to launch into cyber space, today the rest of the world can visit your business online, maybe for the first time, using computers, tablets, smartphones and even smart TV's. You've taken the first step, now enjoy the rest of the journey.
What happens next? Training and 90 days free support, of course...
We know our page creator software is easy to use, but everything gets a little bit better when you get some tips from the experts. We'll organise a Zoom or Skype session once your new website is live, on making changes to your new website!
90 days free support
Your website comes with 90 days free support to iron out any wrinkles you may encounter, these should be few and far between after the training session. If you do have any problems, send us an email or call to get help, remember we do need some detail of what's happening to track down any issues.
You will have already signed up for our basic care which includes your monthly web hosting, monthly system updates, daily backups and of course your website security. But what if you want more, well we have various add ons for care packages that are available, why not call to discuss your needs.
